Housing Options

Introduction

Introduction

Welcome to our
Housing Options finder

This tool will ask a series of questions and then guide you through the different options that may be available to you to improve your current housing situation, especially if you are potentially facing homelessness.

So why not just wait for a Social Housing tenancy?

Social Housing is in great demand and short supply, and even people in the most need will face a long wait. People on the housing register have told us that if they knew how unlikely it was that they would be housed by the council they would have considered other options like moving into private rented accommodation in cheaper areas.

Housing options are the alternatives to Social Housing that may make it easier and quicker for you to move house.

What housing options are available?

There are lots of different options available but they are not suitable for everyone. Using this tool you will be able to see which options are suitable for you. Some of the available options include:

  • Private Renting
  • Mutual Exchange
  • Supported Housing
  • Homefinder (Social Housing in other areas)
  • Social Housing
  • Shared Ownership
